Product Data Managed Exchange (PDM Exchange)
Product Data Managed Exchange (PDM Exchange) is an Engineering and Manufacturing data transfer solution designed specifically to simplify and streamline the Exchange of data between engineering companies and their supply chains and customers. PDM Exchange is a completely secure, robust and flexible method of sharing all forms of engineering data be they CAD files, Visualization data, Analysis reports or RFP's and associated documents. Complete with automated audit trails and intelligent email notifications it can be tailored to meet any data exchange project requirement and benefits from no limits on data file sizes.
PDM Exchange is offered as a web based solution but can also be fully integrated in to any existing PLM process. PDM Exchange enables your engineering team to concentrate on design activities rather than data exchange tasks. Automated translation solutions can also be introduced to enable translated data to be shared in alternate formats, all documented as part of the complete audit trail.
PDM Exchange is secure it allows individual user profiles to be defined by an administrator and dependent upon a user's authorization levels will entitle full or limited access to files and functionality. If a user doesn't have specific project permissions then they cannot access or download any associated project data.
PDM Exchange's database holds all supplier and customer data along with profiles of all the employees permitted to Exchange data.
PDM Exchange can be integrated with a range of PDM systems integrating with Enovia, Teamcentre and Windchill.
Enables the integration of leading CAD systems to enable automatic import and export, initiating CAD routines and converting data using standards based or proprietary methods.
It enables inbound and out bound data to be validated and checked using standard or specialist tools.
Having an open architecture means a broad range of tools can be integrated, e.g. for packaging engineering data, converting CAD data, applying Digital Rights Management, facilitating Intellectual Property protection and Compliance along with tools for sending data via Engdat and using OFTP(2).
Automatic creation of audit trails of the data Exchange processes for tracking and management purposes is a standard feature.
